What We Believe
It’s all about Jesus!
Jesus said, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) At Wesley UMC, we find great joy in developing a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and following his commands for our lives, which is to love God and to love others.
God’s Word the Bible
As a United Methodist congregation, our standards affirm the Bible as the source of all that is “necessary” and “sufficient” unto salvation (Articles of Religion) and “is to be received through the Holy Spirit as the true rule and guide for faith and practice” (Confession of Faith). Additionally, while we acknowledge the primacy of Scripture in theological reflection, our attempts to grasp its meaning always involve tradition, experience, and reason. Like Scripture, these may become creative vehicles of the Holy Spirit as they function within the Church.
United Methodism
We love being United Methodists! We find joy in the unique traditions founded in the teachings of John Wesley and cherish the connectional ministries with our fellow United Methodist brothers and sisters.
